Jason Mercier and Jason Somerville to Broadcast WCOOP $102,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Event

This Sunday, professional poker players Jason Mercier and Jason Somerville, both of whom are part of PokerStars Team, are to stream PokerStars’ $102,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller as part of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). The event has been promoted as the biggest buy-in tournament on the Internet. It will be streamed by the above-mentioned players on Twitch.TV.

The Community Development and Poker Manager of Twitch – Scott Ball – commented on the matter in an official press release, saying that the brand was proud to be a host of the event. He also praised Jason Mercier and his poker play strategy, and called Jason Somerville “a Twitch legend”, explaining he had been actually the one who found poker streaming.

Mr. Ball added that the presence of both Mercier and Somerville at the $102,000 Super High Roller event would ensure real action and excitement for the poker fans around the globe.

The WCOOP Series includes a total of 82 events and kicked off last Sunday. It features a guaranteed festival prize estimated to $50 million.

The Super High Roller event that will start on September 11th features a buy-in estimated to over $100,000, which undoubtedly makes it the poker tournament with the highest buy-in ever played on the Internet. It will beat the previous record set over the 2015 World Championship featuring a buy-in of $51,000.

The streaming event will start this Sunday, at 1:30 EDT and will continue over the two days of the Super High Roller event if, of course, Mercier gets to the second day. The player has generated live tournament winnings estimated to over $17 million. By broadcasting the event, he will provide poker fans worldwide with the chance to see his cards totally free of charge, but still, there will be a 15-minute delay in order to take precaution and prevent his opponents from seeing what cards he has.

Jason Somerville, on the other hand, will join Mercier in the streaming, making comments on the game and keeping in touch with the event’s spectators via chat. Currently, the Twitch channel of Somerville has a total of 13.5 million viewers. The $102,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller will also be broadcast on social media network channels such as Facebook, YouTube and Ps.tv.
